INTRODUCTION:
Setting the stage

Your time is valuable.  This is why I hope you will find this book useful and easy to read.  War and Peace it's not, but that was never my intent.  But before I get into the "why" of this book, I first want to share a few key points to set the stage.

As an avid reader myself, the first thing I do before tackling any book - whether it's fiction or non-fiction - is to determine what the author is going to either tell me, or how they plan to entertain me.

Given all the choices there are in the marketplace today, the above approach should come as no surprise.  Simply put, no one (including me) wants to waste a lot of time with a book that neither informs, entertains or helps in some way.  I've got too much to do!  This is why I look for, and appreciate books that come from both personal applications, and successful results.  I need a book to be the "real deal" - one that is written in such a way that it not only helps me improve in some way, but also allows me to apply the contents easily and effectively into my own life.  This is the type of book I can relate to, one that will make my foundation of life stronger, build my character, and isn't based on superficial coating.

This is why I believe it's important to let you know, up-front, what my intentions are when it comes to this endeavor.  And because I value your time, I've intentionally written this book to be a quick read - one with tons of practical applications that can be implemented effectively, and easily, to create a lifetime of successful results.  In short, my hope is that this book is something that can benefit a wide variety of people, no matter their age, education, gender, ethnicity, geographic location, religion and/or profession.

Sound hard to believe, or maybe overly-ambitious or unrealistic?  Well, it might be, but what you will find written on the following pages not only come from my own experiences, but from my heart as well.  Because of this, my purpose isn't to make money, gain notoriety, or even impress anyone.  Instead, my sole goal is to help as many people as I can; and even if it's only one person, I will view this as a success.  That's how strongly I feel about what I'm about to share, as it has led to many positive changes in my personal, professional and financial aspects of life.

In all honesty, my moment of clarity (or proverbial "wake-up call") came when I lost close to $2 million - yes, that's a two followed by six zeroes - in a very short time as a part of some not-so-wise investment decisions that happened to coincide with some family turmoil.  The specific details of how this all transpired aren't really important, but I take 100% responsibility for my actions and would like to thank (again) my two brothers-in-law (Dr. Subhash and Dr. Anil Sahai) for helping me during this time of crisis.  The key, though, is that it shocked me into a whole new way of thinking.  Changes, however, didn't happen overnight, but this incident certainly made me take more time to carefully examine my life professionally, financially and personally.

Upon further reflection, here's what I knew to be true: My dental practice was successful and on solid footing, but no matter what I did I couldn't seem to get it to the "next level."  And even though my family life was good, I knew it could be a lot better, especially the relationship I had with my wife.  On the outside I most likely appeared successful, but on the inside something wasn't right, as I knew I had a lot more potential for growth and prosperity due to the talents God had given me.  Realizing all this didn't depress or frighten me.  If anything, my seemingly unrecoverable financial and family fiascos made me take a closer look at every corner of my life and what I uncovered is what I plan to share with you in the following pages.

Yes, this "journey of awareness" all started because of a bad financial move, but I soon realized that if I wanted to truly vault my business practice forward and redefine myself in the eyes of my patients, peers and employees I had to also address my personal life as well.

In short, I was shocked to find that there are many "invisible concepts" that play a huge role in our lives.  However, once I understood what these were, learned to harness their powers, and fully embraced the important roles they play, I truly experienced quantum leaps in growth professionally and personally.  In fact, I can say with great certainty that relationships with my wife, family, employees, friends and God all dramatically improved; and to this day I'm thankful it all happened.  Why?  If it weren't for those financial and family-related setbacks, I would've never gotten to where I am today - which is a much better place than I was before, even with $2 million less in my pocket!

Sound crazy?  Or does it sound appealing?  Either way, I hope you focus on the latter, because if I can do it, so can you; and there's no better time to start than now.  Open your mind to the possibilities and enjoy the journey!
